The Habitatilist Group is a full-service Design/Build Studio that specializes in creative and budget friendly residential renovations. We believe that the environment that we place ourselves in affects us both overtly and subconsciously. Our surroundings dictate our mental state and our physical well-being. Our job as designers is to work closely with our clients to create spaces that will be an antidote to the stresses inherent in our modern lifestyle. Constant communication throughout the process is the key to our success, and it all starts with what makes our clients happy, with what they love. We build on that to shape a space that evokes a visual and emotional response that coordinates with the desires of its inhabitants.
Meet Douglas Huebner
Douglas Huebner is the owner and lead designer for the Habitatilist Group, a full-service design/build company that specializes in residential renovations. The company was formed in 2014 and since that time he has renovated dozens of kitchens and bathrooms, as well countless smaller projects such as attic conversions and finishing basements.
Douglas is also a well established Realtor with over 18 years of buying and selling houses in the SOMA area. His design experience is an invaluable asset to home sellers preparing their property for the market and buyers love his critical eye and ability to show them what can be done to modernize an old home.
Douglas’s design principles center around the studies of Biophilic Design, Feng Shui and the Psychology of Color & Light. The blending of these three disciplines gives a space a balance of function and serenity that creates a “wellness” environment for the occupant. Our health and our mental well-being are shaped by the surroundings we put ourselves in.
